Toddlers Program:
During the period from birth to 3 years of age, the child’s brain develops more rapidly than at any other time. During this period the children learn rapidly by observing and absorbing what is alive in their environment.
The goal of the toddler program is to create a nurturing and secure environment that fosters the children’s desire to explore and helps them gain independence.
Under the guidance of caring adults who are Montessori trained, the children learn by working with a variety of materials and activities that pique their interest. These materials and activities are designed to build their concentration and help them develop a number of skills including self help skills, gross and fine motor skills, problem-solving skills and language and communication skills.
Pre-primary program
The children of 2 ½ to 6 years are helped to learn by using their absorbent mind.
The freedom with guidance given by the educators as well as the specially prepared materials and environment, enable the children to learn by exploration and discovery.
By working with materials, children develop various skills such as motor skills, cognitive skills, and reading and writing skills. Various concepts in Arithmetic, Geography, Botany, Zoology and Geometry are presented as an extension of the sensorial and language activities. While engaging in these activities children also get opportunities to observe, interact and learn from their peers and educators.
The various developmental activities enable the children to grow in independence and gain self-confidence, concentration, will power and hand-eye coordination. They become conscious of the environment around them and develop an interest for learning and an attitude of respect and admiration.
Lower Elementary And Upper Elementary Programs
The children aged 6 to 12 years; work in small groups on a variety of projects using their imagination and intellectual skills.
The educators give presentations on various aspects of human culture including Language, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Astronomy, Music and Art. As follow-up activities, the students do research work and present their findings to the class.
Our curriculum also includes educational trips to places such as factories, farms, botanical and zoological parks as well as excursions to various states in India. These trips not only extend the students knowledge on various subjects but also give them practical experiences; a chance to see new sides of their peers, educators and themselves; develop their day to day problem solving skills; expose them to new and different cultures and make them sensitive to their surroundings.
The Erdkinder Montessori Adolescent program
The Erdkinder Montessori Adolescent program is adapted to the needs of adolescents and to the times in which we live.
It is based on the development of the adolescent personality, morality, self-esteem and personal adaptability through work. The different kinds of work that they do in addition to academic work include, community work, land work (farming, landscaping), work for self expression ( art, pottery, poetry), physical exercise and production and exchange.
Regular Dialogues and discussions, interactions with experts from various fields, field trips and excursions help the adolescents learn about themselves as well as the world.
Growing up in a peaceful environment which is close to nature has a calming effect on them and helps them deal with their inner conflicts.
