Teacher Profiles:

Dhanalakshmi Ganeshan: Pre Primary Educator
I have been a part of the Anweshana family since 2003, working as a pre-primary educator in the Marigold environment.
My aim is to nurture each child’s overall personality so they grow up to be happy, independent, and responsible individuals. I believe that learning is a continuous process throughout life, and as an educator, my primary role is to provide children with enough resources and opportunities in a safe environment, allowing them to explore and learn independently. I truly believe that when children learn joyfully on their own initiative, the concepts they discover are multifaceted and stay with them for a lifetime.
I enjoy cooking and gardening, and I love sitting under a tree, listening to the sounds of nature. I also have a passion for writing short and simple poems.

Sana Ameena: Pre- Primary Educator
I am a Bsc Computer Science graduate and a former IT professional. I was introduced to the Montessori Method of education by my father-in-law who was an educationist. After visiting a Montessori school for my son’s admission I became inquisitive to know more about how Montessori methods can be applied in the real world. So, I took up the Montessori Primary course and began my journey as a Montessorian. I joined Anweshana in 2020. I enjoy cooking, watching movies and spending quality time with my children.

Vandana: Pre-Primary Educator
I graduated with a degree in Science in 2006 and completed my MBA in 2008. My journey into education began when I explored options for my son’s schooling and discovered Montessori schools. I was immediately drawn to the Montessori approach, which emphasizes fostering a child’s natural curiosity and instilling a love of learning through engaging, real-world experiences.
In 2020, I completed my Montessori certification for pre-primary education from IMTC. This qualification allowed me to begin my role at Anweshana in 2021, where I have been dedicated to applying Montessori principles to support and enhance young learners’ educational experiences.
In my free time, I enjoy swimming, listening to music, and dancing, which help me maintain a balanced and energetic lifestyle.

Rashmi D Murthy: Pre- Primary Educator
I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts [Painting] from Chitrakala Parishat in 2008. I’ve always wanted to work with children, and my love for them led me to pursue the Montessori course after graduation. I used to visit Anweshana for observation during my Montessori training and fell in love with the place. I joined Anweshana in 2011 upon completion of my course.
I began my journey at Anweshana by working with toddlers, which is an experience I find very memorable. I feel that facilitating a child’s early learning experience, so that they develop a love for learning, is a very rewarding experience for an educator.
Apart from my job, painting provides me with the opportunity to relax and express my thoughts through my artwork.

Shalini Govardhan: Pre-Primary Educator
I had visited Anweshana to observe one of the pre-primary environments and got impressed by the Montessori method of learning. My motivation for working in Anweshana as an educator was my son Harshvardhan. Watching him work independently and confidently inspired me to choose this path of working as a Montessori educator. I have been working in the toddlers’ environment of Anweshana since 2015. I find it a pleasure to be working in an environment that encourages inquisitiveness and experimentation and changes the way we are conditioned to think bit by bit, in small achievable ways.
I completed my B.A Psychology in education and IMTC training. I like cooking, baking, travelling and long walks on the beach.

Roshini Aranha Dsouza: Pre-Primary Educator

Sumana G: Pre Primary coordinator & educator
I graduated in commerce, completed my post-graduation in Information Science and Computer Applications, and interned for 3 years in the CRM space. In 2005, after enrolling my son in a Montessori school and attending his orientation, I became more interested in the method and decided to join the Montessori training course at IMTC, completing it in 2007. During my visits to Anweshana for observation (as part of the course), I found it a treat to watch the little ones curiously waiting to learn a new concept, eagerly looking forward to learning a new song, and attentively listening to stories. Touched by many such experiences, I joined Anweshana in 2007 and have been the pre-primary coordinator since 2017.
I believe that one needs to be a good learner in order to be a good teacher, and I find there is so much to learn from the children. I love baking and find it therapeutic, and I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places.

I started my journey at Anweshana in 2011, along with my son, who joined as a student in the primary environment. I worked for 4 years in the Primary environment. Watching the children work with independence and grace, and seeing how they help each other when needed and communicate with adults, deepened my interest in the Montessori method.
For the past 6 years, I’ve been working with children in the Lower Elementary. The inquisitiveness of the children and the questions they ask keep me motivated and help me grow in all aspects. I believe that, apart from academics, education is also about ethics and values, which help children develop into well-balanced individuals in society.
I enjoy drawing, listening to music, and doing embroidery.

I now support the children in the lower elementary environment. I find joy in being with children and relish the opportunity to nurture and develop their young minds. I love losing myself in their world, and my best moments are spent nudging, cajoling, and prodding them to dream and imagine through my extensive collection of stories.

Inspired by the methodology, I pursued Elementary Montessori training from IIMS in 2013 and subsequently joined Anweshana Montessori House of Children. I now work with children in the age group of nine to twelve years. I believe that children must be given opportunities for hands-on activities and experiments to enhance their learning, and I love seeing them fully immersed in such activities.
Apart from this, I enjoy reading, cooking, shopping, visiting places, and a variety of other interests.

Dunly Rajeev: Upper Elementary Coordinator and Educator
My association with Anweshana began in 2005 as a parent. Both of my children were part of Anweshana during their early school years. Watching them learn to read and write without the monotony of copywriting, derive mathematical concepts from hands-on materials, and connect with nature—all while working independently—deepened my belief in the Montessori method. This inspired me to become a part of it, and I completed my elementary Montessori training from IIMS Bangalore in 2012. I currently work with children aged 9-12, and their energy and curiosity motivate me to dive deeper into subjects to satisfy their endless questions.
Gardening has been an interest of mine since childhood, which led me to pursue a graduation in Botany. I also enjoy regaling my students with stories, love reading, and am fond of stitching and the occasional baking.

I further enriched my teaching experience at a Portland community college, where I taught Chemistry and conducted practical labs for graduate students. My journey also included volunteering at public libraries, where I engaged young minds through storytelling. After a 13-year hiatus to focus on family, I returned to teaching in an underprivileged school, working with first-generation learners. This experience grounded me and fueled my commitment to helping children pursue their dreams.
Beyond teaching, I find solace in Carnatic music, culinary explorations, and reading. As an avid runner, I embrace the joy of running and have participated in charity runs.
My enduring dedication is to guide children toward purposeful learning and help them realize their aspirations.

When I’m not busy teaching and goofing around with science and mathematics, I love experimenting with different cooking techniques and cuisines. I’m also an enthusiast of organic farming. Additionally, I’m passionate about contributing to social causes and always try to volunteer with service or resources whenever possible, to the best of my abilities.

I enjoy including practical experiences, experiments, and outdoor learning in my classes.
When I’m not doing all that, I eat tasty food and ride my bicycle. I also take my sleep and chill time very seriously.
